Pledging to foil all bids to divide Punjab and Punjabis, at least 207 office bearers of the SAD urban unit, including Councillors gathered here to condemn the recent incidents of alleged sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib.
They said that they would take the message of peace, amity and tranquillity to grass root-level to safeguard deep knitted communal concord in the state.
The gathering said that no one would desert the party and its cadre during this hour of crisis. It was also announced that timing of the incidents indicates that they were planned with the sole motive of disturbing the peace of the state.
He also urged the cadre to be cautious about misleading information circulated through social media and rumour mongers. He also pointed out to the cadre that this was the right time to prove loyalty to the party and the State.
