"We expect a double-digit growth in the number of Indians visiting Amsterdam this year," Amsterdam Marketing Chief Executive Officer Frans van der Avert told PTI.
Amsterdam Marketing is responsible for promoting the region.
The Indian tourists are attracted to the museums and architecture of Amsterdam. They are also attracted to canals, flowers and wind mills the city offers, he added.
On the initiatives Amsterdam Marketing is taking, Avert said: "It is through the publicity initiatives we are taking and through the people in the travel business here. It is also through increasing the contacts with people."
"The city has a very large Indian community and is also home to many Indian companies," Avert said.
Amsterdam attracts around 4.6 million visitors from all nationalities and who stay a total of around 8.6 million nights.
