Angry protestors ransack bar in Erode

Members of the public went on the rampage damaging the bar attached to a State-run liquor shop here today.
The protestors, numbering around 100 including 70-odd women, were demanding closure of the TASMAC outlet and the attached bar in Periya Valasu area, a suburb located within Erode Municipal Corporation limits, police said.
During the agitation, suddenly some men began attacking the bar and the women joined them, police said and added that they damaged the chairs, tables and other things.
