"The HPCA has made itself a laughing stock by linking the name of Tendulkar with the state cricket body which has been accused of many wrongdoings and getting huge chunks of government lands in the garb of promoting cricket," CPI(M) state secretariat member and Shimla Deputy Mayor Takinder Panwar said in a statement.
He also urged Tendulkar to distance himself from the bogey of lies and not to associate with people who are charged with cheating and fraud in the state.
On the pretext of opening cricket academies, the association has grabbed prime and common land at throw away prices and created a fiefdom to support the BJP, he alleged.
Panwar also said BJP flags were seen fluttering over HPCA properties after the high court granted an interim relief and restored the possession of the properties to the association after the state government had seized them.
