"The ACB in the wee hours conducted raids at three SC/ST/OBC welfare hostels in Nandigama. Discrepancies were found in the occupancy records, grocery purchase among other areas," ACB DSP V Gopalakrishna said.
"In the SC hostel, only 120 students were found residing as against the 150 students registered with the welfare institution. Similarly, not a single student was found in the ST hostel, but 40 students were being shown as residing there. Only 5 students were found in the OBC hostel, as against 80 names found in its records," he said.
The wardens were found indulging in large-scale irregularities, he said, adding the ACB has recommended to the authorities to initiate action against them.
