Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers' Association (APNGOA) president P Ashok Babu has clarified that there is no change in the organisation's stand on a "united" Andhra Pradesh and it would not compromise on its demand under any circumstances.
Reiterating that the APNGOA would continue its stir, Babu said an agitational programme from Wednesday to November 5.
Addressing a 'Save Andhra Pradesh' meeting at the JNTUK grounds here today which was well attended despite heavy rains, he said that state government employees would continue their fight against the state's bifurcation until the very last.
"We'll strive to stall the bifurcation with all our strength, if necessary seeking recourse to the law. We will appeal to the President of India not to allow the division of Telugu speaking people for political gains and also enlist the support of all national parties" he said.
Lashing out at Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) leader K Chandrasekhara Rao for belittling the ongoing agitation for a "united" Andhra Pradesh, by describing it as "sponsored by vested interests", Ashok Babu said that unlike the Telangana agitation, the Samaikhyandhra stir is a "real people's movement, with spontaneous participation by all sections of society".
Employees were on strike for 66 days at the cost of their families and are ready for further sacrifices for a "united" Andhra Pradesh, he said.
