Army Commander Central Command Lt Gen Anil Chait, who inaugurated Surya Medical Emergency Helpline, told reporters the toll free service will offer expert advice on medical emergencies like accident injuries, burn injuries, chest pain and seizures.
Distressed persons can contact toll free number 1800-180-5558 or even send MMS to Army doctors on mobile number 8009833388, he said.
Initially started as a pilot project last month in Lucknow, the service has now been extended to all seven states of Central Command -- Uttarakhand, UP, MP, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Odisha -- under the motto 'Your Health Our Concern', he said.
