The civil authorities in Bharatpur had sent a requisition to the Army for assistance to destroy certain old and unserviceable bombs, which were found at Bhartapur by some persons on October 27, the defense PRO said in a statement here today.
The Army provided full and prompt assistance in securing the rusted ammunition and destroyed them as per laid down procedure on October 29 and 30, he said.
The ammunition which was found by the police was "used and unserviceable" and of extremely old vintage and does not belong to the stocks currently held with the Army, the PRO said.
