"In an effort to integrate the children residing in the far flung areas of the border district of Rajouri, with the national mainstream and to promote their interest in extra- curricular activities, Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under Romeo Force organised a 'Youth Festival' from February 5 to 8 at Government Higher Secondary School Dhangri," said Lt Col Manish Mehta, a Jammu based defense spokesman.
Mehta said students from seven schools of the district participated in the festival.
The official said the senior officers of the Rashtriya Rifles witnessed the event on the last day and gave away prizes to the winners of various competitions and the participants.
"The school authorities expressed their gratitude towards the Indian Army for undertaking such events which help in overall development of children of the area and requested the Army to conduct similar events in future," he said.
