The deceased, identified as Surinder Kumar, was posted as Naik in the engineering branch at the Air Force Station in Pathankot, police said.
Kumar was alone in his house when he committed suicide. It was immediately not clear as to what led him to take the extreme step.
Police have registered a case and investigation is underway.
