The Army today flagged off a group of 23 students of Akhnoor belt on an educational-cum-motivational tour to Delhi and Jaipur.

The tour, organised under 'Operation Sadbhavana', was flagged off by the Commander of Kalidhar Brigade at Dori Dager in Akhnoor tehsil of Jammu district today, a defence spokesman said.

The students, accompanied by two teachers, will visit various places of interest in New Delhi and Jaipur, he said, adding that the tour was organised to give the children an opportunity to explore the vast diversity of the country and interact with the people of Delhi and Jaipur, the spokesman said.

"We have only read about these places in the books and now with the help of the Indian Army we are getting an opportunity to visit these places and see the beauty of incredible India," Master Vikas Sharma, a student participant, said.

"This endeavour of the Indian Army has brought smiles to the children and this would be a great opportunity for them towards becoming responsible citizens of the country," said Sudershan Singh, a school teacher who is accompanying the students.
