The Arunachal Pradesh government has strongly refuted allegations levelled by MLAs from Tirap, Changlang and Longding (TCL) districts currently camping at New Delhi on non-release of funds meant for these districts by the state government led by Chief Minister Nabam Tuki.
All total Rs 44,305 lakh has been released for these three districts under NEC, NLCPR, SPA and RIDF apart from the normal DoTCL funding and non-plan funding during the revised estimate stages, Department of Tirap, Changlang and Longding (DoTCL) minister Tirong Aboh said in a statement here today.
Eight rebel MLAs from the districts recently alleged the three districts remained grossly neglected under the leadership of Tuki.
Even the additional Rs 15 crore budget for DoTCL has been retained by the Chief Minister under his disposal for distribution to his coterie, they had alleged.
"No previous government had ever gone for extensive planning and transparent funding than the present government headed by Chief Minister Nabam Tuki. The development activities and the funding pattern are in the public domain," Aboh said.
Therefore, neglecting these three districts by the Chief Minister was misleading and was an attempt to shift the responsibility of vested interest lawmakers of the districts, he said.
"Merely accusing the state government for accusation sake and to garner cheap publicity is nothing, but a deliberate attempt to misguide the innocent local people of Tirap, Changlang and Longding," the statement added.
