Ashram head detained under NSA for objectionable remarks

An ashram head, who was arrested for allegedly making derogatory remarks against a particular community, has been detained under National Security Act by district authorities, officials said today.
Acharya Jasbir Singh, who was arrested on December 28, has been detained under relevant sections of National Security Act, SP of Shamli district Vijai Bhushan told PTI.
Jasbir's remarks were made at a Panchayat convened over the elopment of a 24-year-old girl from Kandhla town on December 25. His comments had stirred tension in the area and members of the other community had staged a protest demanding his arrest.
