A leading cement brand of the North-East region has started a signature campaign among cricket fans in Assam to cheer the Men in Blue at the ongoing World Cup.
With India beating arch rivals Pakistan and breaking the World Cup jinx against South Africa, good wishes have poured in for the Indian team from fans in Assam, said Madhur Agarwal, Managing Director of Surya Gold Cement, which has initiated the signature campaign.
Agarwal expressed confidence that one lakh wishes from the N-E region through the campaign, '#DoItAgain', would motivate the team to play well.
"Giving an opportunity to millions of cricket fans of this state to convey their best wishes to Team India, we aim to make this World Cup 'a cup for all'. We had won the last World Cup and hope we would be able to 'Do It Again' in the ongoing series", he said.
The Surya Gold Cement team has been travelling across Assam with signature boards mounted on vans prompting cricket fans to sign on the board and wish Team India.
Signature boards have also been installed in schools, colleges, orphanages, malls, coffee shops, etc., Agarwal said.
The campaign has already collected over 60,000 signatures and cricket fans are showing much enthusiasm to sign in the boards, he said.
The signature campaign will continue till the first week of March and after collecting one lakh signatures all the good wishes will be handed over to the BCCI, Agarwal said.
