Defending champion Anirban Lahiri, who has been advised rest, will be missing along with Jyoti Randhawa in the competition that is held among the top 60 players of the PGTI Order of Merit and five sponsored entries.
The Orlando based Atwal who made history winning the Wyndham Championship on the PGA Tour has confirmed participation along with Rahil Gangjee, SSP Chowrasia, Himmat Rai and Gaganjeet Bhullar in the five sponsored entries, PGTI announced here today.
"His physio has advised him rest so he won't be coming this time. Randhawa too will miss out," PGTI director Uttam Singh Mundy told reporters here.
Bangalore lad S Chikkarangappa currently lead the rankings with a total purse of Rs 3,689,711.
The tournament boasts of the highest prize purse of Rs 1.5 crore in the domestic circuit and it will be the third editon of the meet in Kolkata.
