Authorities scotch tiger cub death reports in Panna Reserve

Authorities at the Panna Tiger Reserve have rubbished media reports of 2-3 tiger cub deaths in the park spread over Panna and Chhatarpur districts of Madhya Pradesh.
According to an official release here today quoting Regional Director R Shriniwas Murthy, abandonment of its cubs by tigresses is a natural phenomenon and denied any deaths at the Reserve.
Murthy said Panna Tiger Reserve family has earned global pride due to its efficient safety management and it was a matter of happiness and pride that tiger family of the Reserve has spread in half of Vindhyachal region in a short span of three years.
He said that pictures taken by a camera trap from Damoh (district) has established that the tiger visible in them is Panna-121. Besides, another tiger Panna-222 has been identified and collared in Chandra Nagar range (of Chhatarpur), Murthy added.
