Incensed by Tharoor's remarks, the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) had few days back decided to submit a report to the high command seeking action against the Thiruvanathapuram MP.
As per practice, if the party decides to take action against Tharoor, the matter will have to be decided by the three-member disciplinary action committee of AICC, comprising leaders Motilal Vora, A K Antony and Sushilkumar Shinde.
When contacted, Vora said, "We have yet not recieved the complaint from either side so far. If it comes to us, we will see it."
Signalling that disciplinary action would be contemplated against Tharoor if he kept on praising Modi's initiatives, KPCC vice president M M Hassan had a few days back in Thiruvananthapuram said, "As a first step, we are asking him to stop praising Modi as his stance went totally against the Congress's ideals."
A senior party functionary had, however, said the party may not prefer any drastic action against Tharoor but also made it clear that the MP should keep in mind that that he holds a responsible position in the party and party interests should come first before he airs his views.
