Awards for champs Banthia, Aher

Maharashtra's National sub junior champions Siddhant Banthia and Salsa Aher today received the annual MSLTA Annual Scholarships worth Rs 10 lakh.
National mini junior champion Gargi Pawar and national mini junior runner-up Sharanya Gaware and Malikaa Marathe and girls under 18 AITA 3rd ranked player Mihika Yadav, were also among the 32 top tennis players who were awarded at the MSLTA annual day here.
The awards were given away by MSLTA President Bharat Oza, Secretary Sunder Iyer and Vice President Bhalchandra Bhagwat and Rajeev Desai, along with MSLTA Council Members.
"These scholarships for players performances are a reward to players who have played for the country or have finished in top three in their respective events at the national and state level," said Iyer.
MSLTA also conducted over 140 tournaments covering all age groups, apart from 12 international events giving it the honour of a state association organising the highest number of tournaments in the country last year, he added.
The top 3 players in each age group in the state were awarded scholarships worth over Rs 8 lakh apart from funds for international training.
Special awards were also given to coaches Hemant Bendrey and Kedar Shah for producing national champions and Aditya Madkekar and Nandan Bal for producing national runner-up from Maharashtra.
A Special award was given to KPIT for sponsoring an ATP Challenger at Pune for three years in a row.
The list of scholarship award winners: Siddhant Banthia, Dhruv Sunish, Salsa Aher, Shivani Swarup Ingle, Sharanya Gaware, Gargi Pawar, Malikaa Marathe, Richa Chaugule, Prerna Vichare, Sudipta Kumar, Armaan Bhatia, Karan Srivastava, Atharva Sharma, Nitten Kirrtane, Kyra Shroff, Aditya Balsekar, Aryaan Bhatia, Sarvesh Birmane, Arjun Gohad, Shivam Kadam, Krish Waghani, Hrishikesh Iyer, Arnav Paparkar, Svarmanyu Singh, Mihika Yadav, Kritika Chhabra, Rutuja Chaphalkar, Vaishnavi Adkar, Harsshali Mandavkar, Sanika Bhogade, Kkaira Chetnani and Chinmayi Bagwe.
