Bahraich (UP), Feb 8 (PTI) An assistant engineer and a

contractor were today arrested for allegedly trying to kidnap a junior engineer of irrigation department for grabbing a tender, police said. Engineer Anil Kumar, who allegedly took money from contractor Gauri Shankar Dixit assuring him of a contract allegedly tried to kidnap Assistant Engineer P N Ram and forcibly took him in a car. When locals informed the police, the kidnap bid was foiled. On complaint of Ram, an FIR was registered against Anil and Dixit, who were arrested by the police.
