Bajaj Finance shares jump nearly 8 pc after Q4 results

Shares of Bajaj Finance today soared nearly 8 per cent after the company reported a jump of 61 per cent in standalone net profit in the last quarter ended March 2018.

The stock jumped 7.75 per cent to end at Rs 2,067.25 on BSE. During the day, it surged 8.86 per cent to Rs 2,088.80 -- its 52-week high.

On NSE, shares of the company gained 7.70 per cent to close at Rs 2,067.95.

The company's market valuation also went up by Rs 8,581.45 crore to Rs 1,19,472.45 crore.

In terms of equity volume, 3.22 lakh shares of the company were traded on BSE and over 55 lakh shares changed hands on NSE during the day.

Bajaj Finance today reported a jump of nearly 61 per cent in standalone net profit at Rs 721 crore in the last quarter ended March 2018.

It had registered a net profit of Rs 449 crore in the same period a year earlier.

Total income during January-March of 2017-18 rose by 33 per cent to Rs 3,557 crore as against Rs 2,670 crore in the corresponding year-ago period, it said in a regulatory filing.
