The USD 4.4 billion Japanese group is setting up a wholly owned subsidiary Bandai Namco India with an initial capital of Rs 12 crore.
"The subsidiary will set up and manage a series of family entertainment centers across India, based on assessment of potential," the company said in a statement.
The first centre at The Oberoi Mall in Mumbai will be operational by the end October 2015, it said.
The vibrant facility will be designed around 3D TV animation themes and according to Japanese standards of safety.
"We believe Indian audiences are ready for entertainment facilities of global standards and it will become one of the fast growing new markets for our group," he added.
"Mumbai despite being India's second largest city, does not have that many world-class entertainment facilities. The new center from Bandai Namco will address that gap," Takeo Yagi, Director and Chief Operating Officer of Bandai Namco India said.
The SBUs include Toys and Hobby, Network entertainment, and Visual and music production.
Bandai Namco India will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Bandai Namco Asia Company, which oversees the group's business in the Asian region, the company said.
