Bathinda coldest at 2.4 C as cold wave continues in north

Bathinda shivered at 2.4 degrees Celsius today as cold wave conditions continued to prevail at most places in Punjab and neighbouring Haryana.
Adampur in Punjab also reeled under intense cold recording a low of 3.1 degrees C.
Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala also recorded below normal minimums at 4.4 degrees C, 4.8 degrees C and 6.1 degrees C, respectively.
Halwara and Pathankot, too, experienced cold weather conditions recording respective lows of 5.2 degrees C and 4.8 degrees C.
In Haryana, Hisar was the coldest place recording a low of 3.1 degrees C, six notches below normal.Narnaul recorded a low of 4.2 degrees C, down two degrees.

Karnal registered a low of 4.6 degrees C, down four degrees while Sirsa reeled at a low of 5.2 degrees C.

Bhiwani and Ambala also recorded below normal minimum temperature at 6.1 degrees Celsius and 6.8 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Cold weather conditions also prevailed in Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, which recorded a low of 5.9 degrees C, one degree below normal limit.
The MeT official said light to moderate rain was likely to occur at a few places in Punjab and Haryana on February 12 -13.
