Bengal minister declares assets of about Rs 26 lakh

West Bengal minister and Trinamool candidate Purnendu Basu who is contesting the upcoming Assembly polls from Rajarhat-Gopalpur constituency, has declared assets worth over Rs 26 lakh.
According to the affidavit filed before the Election Commission, his cash in hand, bank balance and PPF balance make up Rs 26.3 lakh.
He does not own any property and his income during 2014-15 was Rs 1.3 lakh, as per the affidavit.
His highest educational qualification is a BA degree from University of Calcutta in 1974.
