BJD is crumbling on its own: Tytler

"They (BJD) are collapsing on their own. We have nothing to say about BJD as it is their internal matter. However, as an opposition party, we are keeping a watch on the political development in the state," Tytler told reporters here.

Stating that infighting in the BJD was not unexpected, Tytler said that Congress as a political party had no role behind the development.

Asked whether Congress's silence did not indicate it was hand-in-glove with dissident BJD leaders, Tytler said neither he nor the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president had any talks with Mohapatra.

Tytler said that Mohapatra was virtually running the party and the goverment. Therefore, the BJD would collapse in absence of the Rajya Sabha MP who had been suspended from the party.

"We have been demanding a CBI probe into the multi- crore mining scam in the state. Though nobody listened to us then, this time the demand has come from within the ruling party and from Mohapatra", he said.

Reacting to Tytler's statements, BJD vice-president Damodar Rout asked the Congress leader to keep his party intact instead of criticising others.
