Taking a jibe at the show of unity among leaders of various opposition parties in Karnataka during the swearing-in ceremony of HD Kumaraswamy, Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Om Prakash Rajbhar today termed it as a gathering of spent forces.

"All the spent forces had gathered (dage huye kaartoos ikathaa huye hai). They have seen the outcome of the 2017 UP Assembly elections -- be it the BSP, SP or the Congress. None of these opposition parties are active throughout the country," Rajbhar told reporters.

Referring to the party leaders who had attended the swearing in ceremony in Bangalore, he said some political party is active in Maharashtra, some in Tamil Nadu and some in Delhi.

Rajbhar, who heads BJP ally Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party, exuded confidence that BJP and his party will emerge victorious in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
