Opposition BJP today charged the Congress-led government in Uttarakhand with failure on all fronts and demanded that it quit office if it cannot solve the problems facing the state.
"The state government has failed to deliver on all fronts despite being in office for a year now. It should step down if it cannot solve the problems plaguing the state," state BJP president Tirath Singh Rawat told reporters here.
The Congress-led ruling coalition headed by Vijay Bahuguna completes one year in office on March 13.
"The Congress' one year in office in Uttarakhand has been extremely disappointing for the people, who feel cheated," said Rawat who took over the reins of the party in the state last month.
Funds sanctioned by the Centre for development schemes like MNREGA and PMGSY remain unused, he alleged.
"This has led to a sense of stagnation among people who are looking for change and this was reflected in the Congress' defeat in the Tehri Lok Sabha bypoll," Rawat added.
Faced with defeat, the state government is trying to defer the civic body polls in the state, the BJP leader alleged.
