The ruling BJP today said that July 5 Jharkhand bandh called by the JMM and other opposition parties is "unconstitutional and illegal" as per the past observation of the Jharkhand High Court.
Opposition JMM, Congress, RJD and other parties have called the statewide bandh on Thursday against the amendment in the Land Acquision Act 2013.
Citing a case of December 3, 2003, BJPs spokesman Pratul Shahdeo said that there was large scale violence during the bandh on August 31, 2003 called by the JMM. Bandh supporters had also beat up advocates during that bandh.
Hearing a PIL, the court had observed that the bandh was unconstitutional as bandh supporters had indulged in violence.
He it seems the JMM has neither concern for the Constitution nor respect towards High Courts observation.
