BJP delegation meets LG, seeks release of MLAs development

A delegation of BJP MLAs today met Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung demanding the release of MLAs fund for taking up development works and the continuation of service of battery-operated rickshaws in the national capital.
The delegation, led by Delhi BJP president Harsh Vardhan, also took up the issue of water, power, water tankers, privatization of water supply and admission in private schools with the LG and handed over a memorandum to him.
"The LG has assured us that after the tenure of model code of conduct ends, he would release MLAs' fund. Besides, the LG has also assured BJP MLAs that battery-powered rickshaws would not be stopped," Delhi BJP president Harsh Vardhan told reporters here.

Vardhan also said the BJP delegation also drew the attention of the LG towards the alleged over-charging by power companies, adding they also raised the question about the justification in recovering fixed charge, quarterly fuel charge etc.
"If power companies improve their management and frame long-term plan, they can then make Delhi self dependent. It is unfortunate that power companies always think of earning profit," he also said, adding the delegation also demanded a corruption-free system of private tankers.
The Delhi BJP president also said they also took up the matter of alleged corruption in PDS, demanding from the LG to frame a corruption-free scheme so that people may be provided cheap ration and sugar on time.

"Kejriwal-led government didn't make any provision in the budget and hiked water tariff by 10 per cent. Kejriwal only provided subsidy of 300 crores rupees from the public money to those power companies," he also added.
Kejriwal also alleged old people are not getting pension in all 70 assembly constituencies due to which they were very much suffering, adding the BJP delegation also demanded the start of development work in unauthorized colonies.
