Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana chief Raju Shetti today said that it was the BJP that had disrupted the functioning of Parliament and termed the party's day-long fast as a "farce".
"The BJP's fast is like "sau chuhe khaake billi haj ko challi" (claiming to be righteous and pious after committing sins). They disrupted the House and now they are blaming the opposition," Shetti said here while attending a meeting of party workers.
Shetti, a Lok Sabha MP from Hatkanangle constituency, asked, "I would like to know how many times the Speaker of the Lok Sabha or the Vice-President (ex-officio Chairperson of the Rajya Sabha) called a meeting of all party leaders to break the deadlock?"
