Hailing the Ordinances approved by the Centre, BJP today said it shows the NDA regime's commitment and resolve towards reforms and public interest as the move will benefit lakhs of farmers and common people.
Referring to the Ordinance to regularise unauthorised colonies in Delhi, BJP's national secretary Shrikant Sharma said it will go a long way in helping lakhs of people get basic civic amenities.
"This will help provide relief to lakhs in the national capital and will help improve their living conditions," he said.
Terming the Land Acquisition Ordinance as a "landmark decision", Sharma said, "it will go a long way in protecting the interests of farmers, help them get a raised compensation and help in both infrastructure-building and ensuring development in the country."
He also hit out at the Congress, saying it is venting out its "frustration" as they have failed to block the reforms process which the government has carried out in full momentum despite its opposition.
"The steps taken today reflect the political will and government's commitment towards reforms that Congress tried to stall it by creating obstacles in Parliament. BJP welcomes these reforms," Sharma said.
He said the reforms process is a continuous one and the government is committed to bring the country's economy back on track, which was derailed due to the "misgovernance and corruption" by the previous Congress-led government.
"Our government is committed to reviving the country's economy and work towards welfare of the common man," he said, listing out the steps taken by the government to control price rise.
He also said that the government connected the common man with economy through the Jan Dhan scheme.
In a decision that will benefit about 60 lakh people in poll-bound Delhi, Union Cabinet today approved an Ordinance to regularise 895 unauthorised colonies which have come up till June 1 this year.
