BJP MLA calls off 3-day-old dharna

A BJP MLA today called off his three-day-old dharna against the alleged increase in rape cases in the Khajuwala area here after an assurance from district collector that the circle officer and staff of the local police station will be shifted.
MLA Vishwanath began the dharna on April 30 against the increase in the rape cases areas under the Khajuwala police station.
He had been demanding the removal of Khajuwala circle officer Babu Lal and other policemen, saying that they were not effective in checking crime.
The BJP MLA called off the agitation after District Collector Arti Dogra and SP Rakesh Saxena met and assured him that the entire staff of the police station will be changed.
