The BJP government not only ruined the higher education sector but also denigrated the institutions by appointing people who were not qualified to shoulder the responsibilities entailed in their duties, secretariat member and deputy mayor of Shimla Municipal Corporation Takinder Singh Panwar said in a statement.
The CPM leader questioned the appointment of Himachal Pradesh University Vice Chancellor and said he was mired in controversy in Madhya Pradesh over some charges. "His only qualification is that he is and was a member of the RSS", Panwar said.
He alleged that there was some tacit understanding between the BJP and the Congress, who share common views as far as sale of education sector in Himachal is concerned.
The BJP was determined to cause irreparable destruction to this crucial sector and alleged that private universities already opened in Himachal are playing havoc with the state and the people, he said.
