Deputy leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Ravi Shanker Prasad said,"on one hand, the country is looking up at Narendra Modi on his birthday today and on the other, there is a second issue of Rahul Gandhi who says (at a rally in Rajasthan) his party is fighing poverty in the country. But he is saying this on a day when prices of onion and other vegetables have again shot up."
Targeting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Prasad said Congress does not know what to say. "Manmohan Singh says very little anyway. Sometimes, at the height of 40,000 feet, he says something (an apparent reference to his media conference on board his special plane returning from abroad). So, he thought of saying something about Narendra Modi as well. He had gone to attend G-20 meeting. So, while coming back, on his jet, when he decided to say something, he said he was ready to work under Rahul Gandhi," Prasad said during the launch of BJP's election campaign for Delhi.
"I want to tell these ministers humbly that the people of the country have decided that the next Prime minister will be Modi and next year, the tricolour will be hoisted at Red Fort by him", claimed Prasad.
Taking a dig at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Prasad said the people of the country as well as Bihar have made their choice.
"There are 40 Lok Sabha seats from Bihar and I want to announce today that JD(U) it will not win more than 5-7 seats in Lok Sabha elections. BJP will get at least 18 seats out of the 40 seats. If there is a change going on in the entire country, why not in Delhi"? said Prasad.
