BJP targets govt over 'poor implementation' of schemes

Alleging "poor implementation" of "over three dozen schemes run in the name of Chief Minister", Opposition BJP today targeted the state government in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, forcing Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary to adjourn the session during the Zero Hour.
Shouting anti-government slogans, legislators led by Leader of Opposition Nand Kishore Yadav trooped into the well of the House waving placards and created a ruckus in front of the Speaker, who carried out regular business of the Assembly for some time before adjourning it till the second half.
Yadav said "Over three dozen development and welfare schemes are being run in the state in the name of Chief Minister. Most of them are in bad shape due to poor implementation."

"There is no monitoring of these schemes. Nobody is worried about them. The targets prescribed are never met. If such is the sorry condition of schemes in the name of Chief Minister, one can just imagine what could be the condition of other development schemes," Yadav said.
The BJP leader said the state government was just indulging in "big announcements" and was not serious about implementation of those schemes.
Singling out the Mukhyamantri Kshetriya Vikas Yojana (MKVY) as "the most important among such schemes," he said MLAs and MLCs get Rs two crore every year under it for initiating development projects in their constituencies.

"The state government accepted in its review meeting in December 2014 that out of 16,573 work recommendations received under MKVY during financial year 2014-15, only 6,012 were given administrative approval," Yadav said.
The Leader of Opposition said over the last three years only 14,506 recommendations were approved under MKVY, of which only 1,895 were completed. Projects worth Rs 149 crore were still pending from this period, while work did not event start on projects worth Rs 458 crore.
