A fire broke out in a scrap godown of a regional transport office near Mumbai Central railway station in South Mumbai today, a BMC official said.
However, nobody was injured in the mishap.
"We got a fire call at around 3.30 PM that a fire has broken out in a scrap godown of Tardeo RTO. The scrap godown had a lot of material like papers and chairs in it. A total of three fire engines, two jumbo tankers and an ambulance were deployed at the spot," an official from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation told PTI.
"Since the godown in the C-block of the RTO is an abandoned place, there was no loss of life in the incident. The fire was doused in about an hour's time," the official added.
