Logistics services provider Blue Dart Express today reported 13.3 per cent rise in standalone net profit at Rs 34.74 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2015.
Its net profit in the year-ago period was Rs 30.65 crore, Blue Dart Express said in regulatory filing to BSE.
Total income from operations rose to Rs 571.01 crore in the quarter, over 503.53 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY'14, it said.
In a statement the company said its net profit stood at Rs 126.84 crore for the year ended March 31, 2015, as against Rs 124.40 crore in 2013-14.
Income from operations for the year ended March 31, 2015 stood at Rs 2,268.45 crore against Rs 1,932.51 in the previous fiscal.
Company's Managing Director Anil Khanna said that the macroeconomic situation in the last 2-3 years has not been encouraging to support growth. Despite an adverse external situation and challenges, the company has been able to deliver a reasonable performance, aided by its clear focus on the e-commerce vertical although the core verticals have not shown much traction.
During the year ended March 31, 2015, Blue Dart handled over 1,396.84 lakh domestic shipments, 8.95 lakh international shipments and over 5,58,537 tonnes of documents and parcels across the nation and 220 countries worldwide.
