A police team led by Additional Superintendent of Police (Kiriburu) R M Bhakla went to the spot and recovered the bodies.
Bhakla said the exact cause of the incident was being investigated and an old dispute between two groups was suspected as one of the reasons behind the clash.
The incident had taken place in a remote area bordering Manoharpur and Tonto blocks of the district at a weekly market when members of the rival groups clashed following an altercation, the SP said.
No arrest was made in this regard, he said adding adequate police force have been deployed to maintain law and order in the area.
