The body of Imamuddin, was found yesterday in a box on the ground floor of the house where he lived, police said.
The man's sons yesterday lodged a complaint at Galta Gate police station that their father was missing since Monday, following which police searched the house and found the body.
The deceased shared the house with a tenant couple who were living on the first floor, police said, adding, when the body was found the couple was not present in the house.
Police said the body has been sent to SMS (Sawai Man Singh) Hospital for postmortem and preliminary investigations suggest that Imamuddin was probably hit on the head with a hammer and strangulated, before being put in the box.
