The film, which was released last weekend, will also be screened in Darjeeling and Kalimpong in neighbouring West Bengal, Pabi Ratna Sakhya, owner of production house Deorali Varieties (DV Studios), which produced 'Everyday is Sunday', said today.
The entire cast would promote 'Everyday is Sunday' in Nepal where it would be screened in 80 theatres. Gopi Krishna Movies has taken the distribution rights of the film there, Sakhya told PTI.
It has local girl Trishala Tamang (a class XII student of Deorali Girls Senior Secondary School) in the lead role along with Siddartt Roy Choudhary. Sunil Chettri, another actor in the film, is a student of Government College at Tadong.
The story of the film revolves around Trishala, an amnesiac patient, with whom a non-Sikkimese boy falls in love.
The local actors were chosen after an audition and were trained at a month-long workshop, said the film's director Subhendu Ghosh of Tollygunj fame and a student of famous Bollywood director Yash Chopra.
The film was shot from March 15 to 29, which is spring time in Sikkim, and has only one theme song composed by renowned mandolin player Snashis Majumdar and written by Sudhakar Sharma. Anwesha of 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa' fame and Prantik of 'Voice of India' have sung the song.
"The film has not only given a good platform to local artistes but has also been able to showcase the beauty and serenity of Sikkim. This effort will surely help the state government promote tourism widely," Sakhya said.
