Ursula Andress, Shirley Eaton, Nadja Regin are some of the biggest bombshells of the silver screen but it was an unseen actress, who gave the early Bond Girls their famously sensual voices.
German actress Monica van der Zyl's important contribution has come to light ahead of the 50th anniversary of 'Goldfinger' on September 17.
The 79-year-old has dubbed for over 13 of James Bond's lady interests in ten movies throughout the sixties and seventies, reported Daily Express.
When Ursula Andress emerged from the sea in her iconic white bikini in 'Dr No', it was Monica who spoke her lines.
The German actress also dubbed for 'Goldfinger' siren Bonita, played by Nadja Regin, and Shirley Eaton's Jill Masterson.
When producers finished filming the 1964 movie they were unhappy with Eaton's voice. Monica stepped in to help the bombshell achieve her sultry demeanor.
"She was excellent at it, that's why she got the work over and over again. The most famous Bond Girls are famous for not just their look but their voices. Monica helped create some of the most iconic female characters of the series," Graham Rye, editor of 007 magazine, said.
Monica re-voiced Bond girls Eunice Gayson (Sylvia Trench in 1963 'From Russia with Love'), Claudine Auger (Domino Derval in 1965 'Thunderball'), Mie Hama (Kissy Suzuki in 1967 'You Only Live Twice') and Francoise Therry (Chew Mee in 1974 'The Man with the Golden Gun').
When working on the set of the Bond movies she was known as "One-take Nikki" and was respected for her professionalism and expertise.
A hit with the crew and cast, Sean Connery even signed a copy of the Goldfinger book "To Sexy" in praise of her sultry voice.
