The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi and opposition Congress-led 'People's Front' Friday expressed confidence that they would win the Telangana Assembly polls.

There is a "very, very positive" mood among voters towards the party, caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) told reporters at his native village Chintamadaka where he cast his vote in the Assembly polls.

"...pro-incumbency government is again coming back with a huge majority without any doubt," KCR said.

The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) is going it alone in the polls and so is the BJP.

Polling concluded Friday in the 119 Assembly segments in the state.

State congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy said the 'People's Front' , comprising the Congress, TDP, CPI and Telangana Jana Samiti, would get over 80 seats in the 119-member House.

Reddy, who spoke before the polling concluded, said the number could go up if the voting percentage was higher.

BJP spokesperson Krishna Saagar Rao alleged that KCR violated the Model Code of Conduct by addressing media in the premises of a polling booth and indulging in promotion of his party (claiming majority).

The BJP has complained to the Election Commission on the alleged violation and sought KCR's disqualification as a candidate.

BJP would pursue the matter further and go to court if necessary, he said.

"During campaigning BJP sincerely explained its policies to the people," he said.

Counting of votes would be taken up on December 11.

Assembly elections in Telangana were originally scheduled to be held simultaneously with the Lok Sabha polls next year.

However, the Assembly was dissolved prematurely on September six following a recommendation made by the TRS government.
