CPI(M) politburo member Brinda Karat today alleged the BJP-led government in Tripura has failed to keep its poll promises even after spending five months in office.
By now, the youths of the state should have got smart phones and government employees received pay as par the recommendations of 7th Pay Commission as promised in the party's election manifesto, Karat told the media in the party office here.
"Where is (BJP national president) Amit Shah-ji? He must provide job to each household. People of Tripura are suffering due to non-fulfilment of promises," she said.
"Shun the path of jumlabazi and give the people what they want, Karat, who was here to attend a party programme said," Karat said.
On the National Register of Citizens (NRC), the senior CPI(M) leader said no bonafide Indian should not be identified as foreigner in the name of NRC exercise.
Karat also expressed concern over the attacks on party leaders and supporters who were on a fund raising drive for Kerala flood victims.
"These acts were very unfortunate and undemocratic by a section of people backed by the ruling party. Everybody has the right to raise funds for lakhs of flood victims in Kerala," she said.
