The 56-year-old director was the Artistic Director of the opening ceremony of the London Olympics, 2012, reported Sun online.
"Obviously we are in tough economic times, which means it is difficult to find jobs for people. I think the most important factor for a country's cohesion is that people have jobs that young people can go into," Boyle said.
"You can't keep hoping the optimism of the opening ceremony and the Games will last."
The director also revealed that he worked on his upcoming psychological thriller "Trance" while choreographing the opening ceremony of the games.
On balancing both the schedules, Boyle said, "You have to be honest about it, the Olympics is not really a full-time job. You can make it full-time by sitting in committees all the time and pushing paper around."
His upcoming film "Trance" is set to release on April 5.
