Authorities have said that Harry Corder Greaves' body was found by police and volunteers in a 40-meter-deep crevasse on territory of the Paru Paru indigenous group.
Corder Greaves, from northern Wales, had not been seen since April 7.
He told friends he wanted to spend the day by himself on a mountain. His family has described him as an experienced outdoorsman and skilled furniture maker.
