He excited the crowd at Wonder Bar in Asbury Park when he came out on the stage during a concert by Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers.
Springsteen, 65, and Grushecky are longtime friends who have performed together in many occasions over the years including Asbury Park's annual winter "Light of Day" benefit concert which raises money in hopes to find a cure for Parkinson's disease.
At the New Jersey bar gig, Springsteen played a two-hour set and treated the audience packing the venue to 15 songs like "Darkness on the Edge of Town", "Because the Night" and "The Promised Land" with scheduled acts Grushecky and the Houserockers backing him.
"Chris Daniels and The Proof, Billy Walton Band, Joe Grushecky and The HouseRockers and yes...Bruce Springsteen!" They also attached a photo from the performance.
