As soon as the House met for the day, BSP members raised the issue vociferously and demanded suspension of the Question Hour and having a debate on it.
They later walked out raising slogans against the SP government.
Addressing mediapersons later, Leader of the Opposition Naseemuddin Siddiqui accused the state government of working with political vendetta and implicating its leaders in false cases in Mathura and Varanasi.
"Riots in Mathura took place due to failure of the government," he said.
He alleged that it was surprising that BSP MLC Chaudhary Lekhraj, who was present in the House that day, was named in the FIR in connection with Mathura riots.
"Lekhraj was present in the House on June 1 till 4.30 PM. It is not only condemnable, but most surprising (that he was named in the FIR)," he said.
He alleged that it had been mentioned in the FIR that Lekhraj along with former minister Chaudhary Laxminarain were provoking people in Mathura at 2 pm.
"As a part of planned strategy the government is diverting the attention of the people from its failure. Even when Lekhraj was present in the House that day, an FIR was lodged against the member," he said.
He said a case has been framed against another member Vinit Singh and the tough Gangster Act was slapped against him.
"As a part of well planned conspiracy the government is working with vendetta to protest against which we demanded a debate by suspending the Question Hour. When the government did not agree, we walked out," he said.
