"The bunch of colourful balloons with a banner having - PakTurk, ISRA Campus, Annual Sports Day -- written on most likely came from Pakistan side and landed in Ramsar area," Superintendent of Police, Barmer, Anil Paris Deshmukh told PTI.
He said that the balloons have been seized and the matter is being investigated.
"The Air Force is on the alert and monitoring the situation closely," the Defence Spokesperson Lt Col Manish Ojha said.
IAF officials said the object was flying in from the western sector (implying Pakistani side) and was shot down.
