The case against them was registered against 18 people on the Punjab and Haryana High Court's directions.
"It was alleged in these cases that the Board of Directors of a private company (incorporated in the year 2001), located at Mohali and Chandigarh, were changed and shareholding pattern altered by the accused persons on the strength of false and forged documents to defraud the funds and assets of the said company," CBI spokesperson Devpreet Singh said.
The IAS officer in question is Gurnihal Singh Peerzada but he is not named as an accused in the FIR, CBI sources said, adding that it seems an internal dispute among directors of the company.
"Searches are being conducted today at 15 locations in Chandigarh, Mohali, Ludhiana and Delhi including the residential and official premises of private companies and their Directors," the spokesman said.
