A case has been registered against the makers of the upcoming John Abraham-starrer Hindi movie 'Satyamev Jayate' for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of a community, police said today.

The complaint was given by a person named Syed Ali Jaffary who said he saw the movie's trailer.

He alleged that there was an "objectionable" scene that hurts the religious feelings of the community by insulting the religion and religious beliefs, police said.

Based on the complaint, a case was registered last evening against Emmy Entertainments and others under IPC section 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings) and relevant sections of the Cinematograph Act, they said.

The movie is due for release next month.

The complaint was filed at the Dabeerpura police station here.
