Caste Hindus, Dalits take part in temple consecration

The decision of the Dalits to enter the temple last year against stiff opposition from caste Hindus, and the latter building a wall to separate them led to clashes between the two communities, police sources said.

Police officials held talks with both and persuaded them to celebrate the temple consecration in unity, they said.
